Bonus Match 5 is a daily Maryland-exclusive lottery game with drawings held seven nights a week. It offers a top prize of $50,000 and several lower-tier prize levels, giving players multiple ways to win.

How to Play

To participate, players select five numbers from 1 to 39. Players can choose their own numbers on a playslip or opt for a Quick Pick to have the numbers randomly selected by the terminal. Each play costs $1. Players can also play the same numbers for multiple consecutive drawings, up to 30, by marking the appropriate box on the playslip.

The Drawing Process

During the nightly drawing, five winning numbers are drawn from the pool of 39. After these numbers are selected, one additional Bonus Ball is drawn from the remaining 34 balls. This Bonus Ball is not selected by the player but is used to determine winners for certain secondary prize tiers. For example, matching four of the five main balls plus the Bonus Ball results in a higher prize than matching just four main balls.

Prizes and Odds

The top prize of $50,000 is won by matching all five of the winning numbers drawn. Other cash prizes are available for matching two, three, or four of the winning numbers, with the Bonus Ball offering a chance to increase winnings on these tiers.
