Mega Millions in California

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game offered in California. Players select five numbers from a pool of 1 to 70 and one Mega Ball number from a pool of 1 to 25. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday. The jackpot starts at $20 million and increases each time the jackpot isn't won.

How to Play

1. Purchase a Mega Millions ticket for $2.
2. Select five numbers between 1 and 70, and one Mega Ball number between 1 and 25. You can also choose Quick Pick to have the numbers randomly selected for you.
3. Choose to add the Megaplier option to potentially multiply your winnings (excluding the jackpot).
4. Check your ticket against the winning numbers after the drawing.

Megaplier

The Megaplier multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times, depending on the Megaplier number drawn. The Megaplier costs an additional $1 per ticket.

Claiming Prizes

Smaller prizes can be claimed at any authorized California Lottery retailer. Larger prizes must be claimed at a Lottery District Office. Jackpots are subject to federal and state taxes.
