About Pick 3

Maine Pick 3 Lottery

Pick 3 is a daily numbers game offered by the Maine Lottery. Players select three numbers, each ranging from 0 to 9. Because each number is chosen individually, the same number can be chosen more than once.

Drawings are held every day, twice a day, at approximately 1:29 PM EST and 7:29 PM EST.

How to Play

  1. Select three numbers from 0 to 9. You can either choose your own numbers or have the computer randomly generate them for you (Quick Pick).
  2. Choose your play type. Options include:
    • Straight: Match the numbers in the exact order drawn.
    • Box: Match the numbers in any order. (This only pays if not all 3 numbers are different) There are two types:
      • 3-Way: Two of the three numbers are the same (e.g., 112).
      • 6-Way: All three numbers are different (e.g., 123).
    • Straight/Box: Combines a straight and box bet. If your numbers match in exact order, you win the straight prize. If they match in any order, you win the box prize.
    • Front Pair: Match the first two numbers in exact order.
    • Back Pair: Match the last two numbers in exact order.
    • Split Pair: Match the first and last numbers in exact order.
    • 1-Off: Match at least one number that is one above or one below the selected number.
  3. Purchase your ticket.

Winning

Prizes vary depending on the play type and the numbers drawn. See the prize structure table for details. The overall odds of winning are significantly influenced by the play type chosen.

Winners must claim their prizes within one year of the draw date.
